Dr. Avi Katz

Dr. Avi Katz, GigCapital’s Founder, Chairman and CEO, has spent more than 30 years holding international managerial and executive positions in the high-technology sector. He is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor with decades of experience working for companies of every size, from start-ups to global enterprises. Throughout his career, Dr. Katz has facilitated leadership team building, large-scale fundraising, initial and secondary public offering, the development of alliances and tech partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and almost every other facet of business and financial operations.

In addition to his work at GigCapital, Dr. Katz is also the Founding Managing Member of GigAcquistions, LLC; GigFounders, LLC; and GigNext, LLC. Previously, Dr. Katz bootstrapped in 2007 GigOptix / GigPeak. Inc., took the company public in 2008 (NYSE: GIG), and led its growth as Chairman, CEO, and President through organic and strategic growth through rollup of 10 M&A deals during that time. He sold the company in April 2017 for $250 million all-cash to Integrated Device Technology (NASDAQ: IDT).

Dr. Katz is a graduate of the Israeli Naval Academy and holds both a B.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Semiconductors Materials Engineering from the Technion, the Israeli Institute of Technology. He has authored more than 70 U.S. and international patents, has published more than 300 technical papers, and is the editor of a number of technical books.

Dr. Raluca Dinu is a visionary and global business executive, offering 20 years of achievements in the high-tech industry (semiconductors, electronics, media, cloud data management, and information technology), with an established track record of driving increased revenue and profitability, building and leading cross-functional teams, delivering strong results in turnaround situations, and leading strategic growth and consolidation in fast-paced business environments.

Dr. Raluca Dinu held a General Manager / Vice President position at Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDTI), which was acquired by Renesas Electronics Corp (TSE 6723:JP) for $6.7B. Raluca drove the transfer and integration of the team from GigPeak, Inc. (NYSE GIG) into IDT, post-acquisition of GigPeak by IDT in April 2017. Prior to this, she was Chief Operations Officer of GigPeak, leading 10 M&As prior to the acquisition by IDT.

Dr. Raluca Dinu is Chairing the Compliance Committee as part of the Board of Directors of UpHealth, Inc., a digital healthcare company (NYSE: UPH), and she is also a member of the Audit and Compensation Committees. Additionally, she is part of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of BigBear.ai (NYSE: BBAI), a company that operationalizes artificial intelligence and machine learning at scale through its end-to-end data analytics platform.

Raluca holds a B.Sc. in Physics from 1997, a Ph.D. in Solid State Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Bucharest in 2000, and an Executive-MBA from Stanford University in 2007. She has an Audit Committee Certificate and Compensation Committee Certificate from Harvard Business School, Executive Education Program, in 2021.

James S. Greene

Since 1980, Jim has been serving the global financial services industry. 21 of those years with Accenture where he was instrumental in creating and leading their global financial services business. The last 20 years spread between being CEO of a technology start-up, global head of Financial Services for Cap Gemini, global head of Financial Services Consulting for Cisco and as a Managing Partner of a private equity fund focused on creating and incubating enterprise class analytics software companies. He has worked with over 75 start-ups in the last 10 years ranging from fintech, payment tech, big data, platforms, to name a few.

He is Founder and Managing Director of Sky D Ventures. A venture fund and advisory services firm. They focus primarily in seed rounds in fintech, emerging technologies, commerce platforms, to name a few. In addition, they provide advisory services to incumbents and disrupters alike in financial services, to private equity and VC’s in FinTech and to technology companies serving the financial services industry.

Jim’s industry tenure has been primarily focused on serving global financial services clients. His functional expertise spans consumer, wealth management, commercial, financial markets, mortgage, payments and business models. His geographic experience is balanced across North America, EU, Asia and Emerging Markets. Jim’s work with clients covers large-scale solution development and implementation, business and technology strategy development, and new venture creation and operation. He has an abundance of experience in creating and scaling strategic partnerships and ecosystems. Jim is a well-recognized thought leader on several topics. He regularly hosts and moderates small to large executive conferences and visits to the Silicon Valley. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on the topics of Enabling Commerce and New Models for Profitable Growth in Global Financial Services. He also serves on the Boards of both public and private companies.

Ross Taylor

Ross Taylor has over 30 years of financial experience, both as a chief financial officer and as an equity research analyst on Wall Street. Ross is presently chief financial officer of BillionToOne, a precision diagnostics company with the mission to make molecular diagnostics more accurate, efficient, and accessible.  Previously, he was chief financial officer of Codexis, Inc., an enzyme engineering company.  Prior to Codexis, Ross was chief financial officer of Abaxis Inc., a leading point of care diagnostics company serving the animal health and human health markets, until Zoetis acquired the company for $2 billion.  Ross also served on the board of directors of Scandinavian MicroBiodevices, which was acquired by Zoetis for $80 million.  Prior to Abaxis he had a successful career as an equity research analyst for over 20 years at several Wall Street firms including CL King & Associates, UBS, Smith Barney, and CJ Lawrence.  Ross earned an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Duke University.

Professor Zeev Weiner

Zeev Weiner is a professor in obstetrics and gynecology dedicating most of his academic and research career to introduce ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound for women health. From 2014, he is the Chairman of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rambam Medical Center and full professor at the faculty of medicine, The Technion Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. His sub specialty is Maternal Fetal Medicine and Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. His previous clinical position were Director of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit at Lutheran Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY, (from 2003 to 2005) and Director of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Rambam Medical Center, Haifa, Israel (from 2005 to 2014).

Professor Zeev Weiner combines clinical activity with research. He has published 200 peer review articles in medical journals, presented many of his research works in international meetings, he has been a reviewer in most prestigious medical journals in obstetrics and gynecology, and an editor in the Life journal. His main field of research has been ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. During the nineties, he made a great contribution while introducing color Doppler ultrasound for screening and detecting ovarian cancer, supported by The Israeli Cancer Association. The results of his studies were published in gynecology and ultrasound journals. His studies contributed to the introduction of transvaginal ultrasound and color Doppler ultrasound for the detection of pelvic cancer.

Continuing his research on ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound, Professor Weiner contributed to the detection for fetal anomalies and fetal cardiac circulation. He contributed to the development and the application of the very high-end ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound equipment. For many years, Professor Weiner has been teaching and demonstrating in national and international conferences and seminars the most advanced ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound equipment and modalities. Professor Weiner holds his MD degree from Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University (1986) and his MHA from Recanati Business school, Tel Aviv University (2012).
